About the Author: Aesop
Aesop was a famous Greek slave and master storyteller born approximately 600 years before Christ. Legend tells us his clever wits and ability to captivate audiences won him his freedom and eventually led him into the courts of royalty. Aesop traveled far and wide, finally stopping in the Greek city of Delphi, where he insulted and provoked the citizens so forcefully that they killed him by hurtling him from a cliff.
Nevertheless, Aesop lived on through his fables. For more than
2,500 years, philosophers, teachers, and tutors would admonish their
students to study, or “roll over their Aesops.” We remember
Aesop for his ability to capture our imagination through animal
tales, which teach us something about ourselves and develop within
us the wisdom necessary to make good choices.
The Voice Talent
Daisy Anderson has been performing voiceovers on national advertising campaigns for over 17 years in both New York and Los Angeles. She has voiced everything from birds for Post Toasties, to frogs, and even a princess for Disney’s Movie “The Black Cauldron” with James Earl Jones. Daisy has also appeared on television commercials for Chef Boyardee, Cheer detergent, Nabisco Shredded Wheat, and Diet Sprite. Daisy and her husband David currently reside in Phoenix, Arizona with her dog Samantha and two donkeys, Lilly and Vinnie!
Gene Ganssle has been a professional actor for over 15 years. His work as a voice talent began at age 8, when the eraser head broke on his cheap cassette recorder and he started multi-tracking silly voices. He’s appeared in dozens of theatre productions and films and in hundreds of television and radio commercials. In his spare time, Gene reads to children in the Phoenix, Arizona area. He is grateful to join in the retelling of such timeless stories.
